FAQsWhat is a slushie machine? Often called a slurpee machine, these machines freeze the supplied syrup while constantly turning the mixture with a rotating paddle to ensure it cannot turn into a solid mass of ice. The consistency of the slush depends on the temperature and the thickness of the syrup. Walkers supply the syrup premixed and set the temperature of the machine to provide the ideal consistency of the slushie. Can I use any cordial-type drink in a slushie machine? The short answer is no. Unless you use the syrup supplied by Walkers Party Hire your slushie machine will not freeze to the right consistency - or WORSE, they may freeze into one solid mass of ice. Slushie machines are fairly sophisticated pieces of equipment and to work properly they need a syrup with exactly the right sugar content. Using syrup not supplied by Walkers Party Hire can damage the machine, ruining your event and our machine. Who sets up the machine? Walkers Party Hire staff will deliver and set up the machine for you. We'll even add the syrup if that's what you want. All we need is a power supply and away we go. Can I add alcohol to make cocktails? Yes, alcohol may be added to the mixture. Of course Walkers Party Hire cannot supply alcohol as we do not hold a liquor license. If you would like some recipes take a look at our Recipes page. How many drinks will I get from each bowl? This depends on the size of the cups you use. With a 200ml cup you can expect to get 50 -60 cups from a full bowl. What if we don't use all of the frozen mixture? If you have leftovers you can drain it into freezer trays and pop it in your home freezer. In this way you can have frozen slushie mix on hand whenever you feel the urge. Do we have to clean the machine after our party? Walkers Party Hire ALWAYS clean every machine when they are returned to our warehouse. However we do ask that you drain the machine of any excess slushie mixture and run 10 litres of water through the machine to give it a clean-out prior to our pick up. This helps keep our machines in good working order for the next customer. |
